This unit specifies the outcomes required to operate a non-slewing mobile crane safely.
It includes the operation of a crane fitted with a boom or jib that cannot be slewed, and is equipped with a load-hoisting device to move goods onto or from a vehicle or structure, and which may be used for other functions.
The unit requires the operator to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up crane, transfer load, mobile loads, and shut down and secure the crane.
It requires the operator to have the knowledge and skills to operate safely within the defined scope of the crane, and to work with others to undertake and complete the work.
Eligibility:
18 years of age or older,
HR driver's licence,
Sufficient English language skills.
Training under supervision could be an alternative.
